About the author
and the book.

A senior NHS Consultant Psychiatrist in the United Kingdom with more than 37 years in medicine, including over 23 years as an NHS Consultant. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and holds a Master's degree in Law and Medical Ethics from Keele University.

A lifelong curiosity about why we age so differently — and a pattern he met repeatedly in clinic: patients given sound advice, but rarely the reason behind it. The book is his attempt to close that gap.

Nineteen chapters covering inflammation and ageing, visceral fat and metabolism, mitochondria, oxidative stress, immunity, the arteries, cancer, the brain, muscle, the gut microbiome, sleep, nutrition, habit, geroscience and measurement.

Dr Chari speaks at keynotes, corporate wellbeing events, university lectures and interactive workshops. Tell us about your audience and date on the Speaking & Events page and we will reply within one working day.
